KARACHI: Members of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) met business and trade delegations of various countries visiting 7th Expo Pakistan being held at the Expo Centre from October 4 to 7, 2012.
Delegations from Brazil, Russia, Malaysia and Egypt, who were being accompanied by the respective commercial counselors of Pakistan, interacted with the FPCCI and members of the business community on the first day of the Expo.
Sheikh Shakil Ahmed Dhingra and Iqbal Dawood Pakwalla of the FPCCI taking advantage of this occasion stressed the need for making the Business Councils of FPCCI an effective forum for enhancing trade and investment with these countries.
There are tremendous opportunities for further trade in textiles, surgical instruments, sports goods, pharmaceutical goods, fruits and vegetables, rice, carpets and handicrafts and leather goods.
Trade was already taking place with many of the countries visiting Pakistan, but FPCCI looks forward to more diversified trade, outside of traditional exports as well, they added. In view of their pleasant experience of Pakistan, the visitors could act as ambassadors for our country and help dispel the negative perception about security concerns in Pakistan. staff report
