Magazine editor found dead
KARACHI: The Assistant Editor of a magazine of local daily was found dead at a studio located at Khayaban-e-Shamsheer within the precincts of Darakshan police station here on Thursday. SP Saddar Dr Farrukh said 48-year-old Murtaza Rizvi, son of Tahir Rizvi, was a resident of Phase V1 Defence, adding that his body was found under mysterious circumstances. He said that his friend, Shahid Rasam informed police about the body lying in his studio. Rasam in his statement told police that the deceased took his studio’s key for a body massage, adding that he often used to keep the key for different reasons. According to DIG South Commander Shaukat, the deceased was strangulated by more than one culprits. “The assailants left some evidence at the crime scene which could help determine their genders,” he added. Police sources said that the victim had also contacted his wife to tell her that he was staying at Shahid’s studio and was very tired. staff report
