Shaikh meets USAID

ISLAMABAD: USAID Administrator Dr Rajive Shah called on Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in his office and discussed different matters pertaining to US aid in Pakistan. Dr Shah gave comments on their priorty areas for funding, achievements and expectations through USAID in Pakistan. He mentioned that the key focused areas are energy, agriculture, education and health. In this regard, finance secretary, Economic Affairs Division (EAD) secretary and Planning Commission deputy chairman shared their point of view in the meeting. EAD secretary remarked that we are steadily moving forward and have identified, what we need and what USAID can provide us. In the same way, the finance secretary gave an overview about the national economy. He discussed the macroeconomic
