45,000kg of gutka, other chewable seized; 50 held

KARACHI: About 45,405 kilogrammes of gutka, mainpuri and other harmful tobacco chewable were on Thursday seized and some 50 gutka makers arrested in a crackdown against gutka mafia in different areas of the metropolis. Commissioner Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh stated this while talking to the different delegations who called on him at his office. He said that more than 50 gutka makers were apprehended during the raids, adding that he has directed all deputy commissioners to take indiscriminate action against the mafia. staff report
