MWM rally sees massive turnout in Karachi

Staff Report

KARACHI: Shias showed their huge support for the unity of Muslim Ummah and stability of Pakistan in a huge public meeting held at Nishtar Park on Sunday under the aegis of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen.

Multitudes of people were seen around lanes and streets up to MA Jinnah Road on this occasion.

Flags were fluttering amid the slogans of ‘Labbaik Ya Hussain’. Participants included a huge number of women, men, children and senior citizens. The public meeting was huge and well organised. Participants raised slogans and lifted portraits of their leaders and martyrs. Speaking at the meeting, secretary general of the MWM Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffri said that Millat-e-Jaffaria has given a clear message to the relevant quarters that Pakistan could not become a den of US imperialism. “We shall not support those political parties in the elections who secured votes from Pakistani Shia Muslims but remained silent on genocide of Shia Muslims,” he said. Jaffri said that Shias have decided to vote for those who side with Shias in hardships. He said that only those candidates who reject US agenda for Pakistan would be voted. “We want unity of Muslims and invite all Muslims to join hands with us,” he said.

The MWM chief said that children of the founders of Pakistan have gathered in and around Nishtar Park to reject genocide of Shias on the behest of foreign masters. He said that Pakistan’s prosperity and stability is linked with an end and no to US agenda. He said that US imperialism wants civil wars and destabilisation in all Muslim countries, let alone Pakistan.

“We are sure Pakistan will prosper without the US and its agenda. We are sure imperialism of the US has created problems in Pakistan,” he said. Jaffri said that MWM enjoys unwavering support of Muslims. He said that MWM was against terrorism and extremism. Allama Nayyar Mustafavi of MWM Gilgit Chapter said that government was helpless against terrorists. He said that charter of demands of Gilgit Baltistan province must be accepted and government should honour its assurances and promises. Otherwise responsibility of the consequences would lie on the government itself.

Hashim Mousavi of MWM Balochistan chapter said that genocide of Shias in Balochistan province is a slap in the face of the government and agencies. He demanded immediate and concrete steps be taken to stop genocide of Shias. Abdul Khaliq Asadi of Punjab chapter of the MWM said that genocide of Shias go unabated in Punjab province.

Sabil Hussain Mazahari of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province said that US stooges and terrorists pose serious threat to Pakistan’s stability and unity. Allama Amin Shaheedi and Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi said that Shias are loyal citizens of Pakistan but they were treated step-motherly.

They said that Pakistan has to get rid of alien’s culture and way of living.

They said that International Monetary Fund, World Bank and such like organisations are toeing the agenda of the US to enslave human beings across the world through loans/debts and borrowings. Allama Abbas Kumaili of Jafferia Alliance said that superior courts took notice of slaps but unfortunately they didn’t take notice of genocide of 8,000 Shia Muslims in Pakistan so far.

A woman wing’s official Khwahar Nishat Zehra Abidi also spoke. She said that mothers and sisters were also united for the sake of great cause. Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain of Shia action committee also spoke on this occasion. He said “Pakistan’s stability and unity of Ummah is the theme of today’s public meeting and we have proved it at Nishtar Park that there is no difference in this great cause”.
