— urges overseas Pakistanis to promote soft image of country
ISLAMABAD: Senior Federal Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Muhammad Amin Fahim has called upon Pakistani expatriates in Japan to project soft image of the country by presenting themselves, as role models and urged them to act as an ambassador of their country. At the embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo along with Saleem Mandviwalla, Chairman, Board of Investment and Pakistan’s ambassador to Japan, Noor Muhammad Jadmani, he said Japan was not only an important trade partner but also played a major role in the development of Pakistan. He said during the business dialogue in Tokyo, the Japanese side was requested to further open their market for Pakistani products. The ambassador told a large number of expatriates, who attended the flag hoisting ceremony that he was proud of their meritorious services, being rendered by them as volunteers in the affected areas of Miyagi, Fukushima and Iwate prefectures in the wake of March 11 devastating earthquake and Tsunami last year. Your selfless efforts as volunteers were not only acknowledged by Japanese people but also recognised by the government of Japan, he added. app
