Workshop on crystallography kicks off at GCU
LAHORE: A three-day international workshop on “Crystallography and Nanomaterials” has kicked off at the Government College University (GCU) under the auspices of International Union of Crystallography, GCU Chemistry Department and Ravian Forensic Society.
GCU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleequr Rahman inaugurated the workshop that was aimed at promoting the international publications of crystallographic research, standardisation of methods, units, nomenclature and symbols. GCU Faculty of Science and Technology Dean Prof Dr Ikramul Haq, Chemistry Department Chairperson Prof Dr Islamullah Khan and France Nancy University research-scholar Maqsood Ahmed also attended the inaugural session. At least 150 scholars from different universities across the country are taking part in the workshop, which comprises of four technical sessions, hands-on practice on latest equipments and scientific software training.
