US missiles kill four in North Waziristan
PESHAWAR: A suspected US missile strike killed four alleged terrorists on Monday near the Afghan border, Pakistani intelligence officials said.
The two officials said a pair of missiles hit a vehicle close to Mir Ali town in North Waziristan. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the media on the record. The area is home to terrorists from the Afghan and Pakistani Taliban and foreign fighters. Pakistan Army has not launched an offensive in North Waziristan, meaning terrorists there have an effective safe haven. The US routinely fires missiles at terrorist targets, drawing Pakistani government criticism.
The United States does not officially confirm Predator drone attacks, but its military and the CIA operating in Afghanistan are the only forces that deploy the armed, unmanned aircraft in the region. agencies
