Seminar held to promote breast cancer awareness
LAHORE: King Edward Medical University’s (KEMU) department of surgery, in collaboration with surgical oncology of Pakistan (SOS-PK), organised a seminar on breast cancer awareness on Saturday. KEMU Vice Chancellor Prof Asad Aslam said in his speech that early detection of breast cancer could prevent many complications. He added that the university was providing all facilities to the department of surgery for the better treatment of female patients.
Head of surgery department and president of Surgical Oncology Society of Pakistan, Prof Arshad Cheema, said that women must immediately visit a hospital if they detect any symptoms of breast cancer. He also pointed out that a breast clinic had started working in Mayo Hospital on Mondays and Thursdays.
