Two killed, six injured in blast at fireworks factory in Harbanspura

LAHORE: Two people died and six others were injured in blast at a fireworks factory in Harbanspura on Saturday.

Police said that Iqbal had got a house on rent in Wara Sattar Harbanspura where he established a fireworks factory. On the day of the incident, a huge explosion took place in the factory, as a result of which Iqbal and another man Tanveer died while six others sustained serious burns. Roof of the building also collapsed due to the explosion. The blast created panic among the locals who came out of their houses. Locals and rescuers rushed to the scene and started rescue efforts. The injured were pulled out of the debris and rushed to the hospital. Fire fighters also reached the scene to extinguish fire after the explosion. Police said that Iqbal got the house almost three months back.
