LAHORE: National Counter-terrorism Authority (NACTA) Chairman Tariq Pervez has resigned from office, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday. According to sources, Pervez’s resignation was sent to the Establishment Division and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani is likely to announce a new coordinator for NACTA. The head of the federal group, meant to coordinate the country’s fight against terrorism, has tendered his resignation from his post amid a bureaucratic turf battle. A senior official of the authority, Asif Syed, confirmed the report, the channel added.
