‘OECD area prices show first rise for six months’
PARIS: Consumer prices in the 30 countries covered by the OECD rose in October on a 12-month comparison, to show the first increase for six months albeit by just 0.2 percent, OECD data showed on Tuesday. Overall OECD prices in October were 0.1 percent higher than in September, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development said. On a 12-month basis, consumer prices for energy fell by 9.2 percent in October after a fall of 13.9 percent in September. In the United States, 12-month prices fell by 0.2 percent after a fall of 1.3 percent in September. In Japan, prices dropped by 2.5 percent after a fall of 2.2 percent in September. afp
