LPG shop owner killed in gas cylinder explosion
KARACHI: An owner of Liquefied Petroleum Gas shop died on Saturday evening when a gas cylinder blew up accidentally in his shop within the jurisdiction of Mobina Town police station. The LPG shop where this tragic incident took place was located at Quaid-e-Azam Colony near Abul Hassan Ispahani Road. Police officials said that the deceased identified as Rana Mukhtar, 35, son of Mohammad Sharif, owner of the LPG shop, was killed when a cylinder blew up, which destroyed the shop also. Police officials further said that the cause of the incident was yet to be ascertained and added that it was an unfortunate incident that claimed the life of the shop’s owner and the matter was being investigated. The deceased was married, had two children and resided near his shop in Quaid-e-Azam Colony. Following the incident, panic and fear gripped the area as initially it was considered as an incident of terrorism while rescuers rushing to the spot also created panic in the area. No FIR was registered regarding the incident. staff report
