Committee formed to intensify Afghan refugees’ repatriation
ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to intensify repatriation of Afghan refugees to their homeland, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Friday. Malik said this during a high-level meeting at the Interior Ministry on repatriation of the refugees. The meeting was attended by States and Frontier Regions Minister Najmuddin Khan and other senior officials. The meeting decided to constitute a sub-committee, headed by Rustam Shah Mohmand, consultant Pakistan-Afghanistan Jirga Commission, to draft recommendations to prepare a roadmap for the repatriation. The recommendations would be presented to the committee, jointly headed by Malik and Khan. The committee would submit its report to the federal cabinet for approval. tahir niaz
