SSP leader shot dead

KARACHI: The general secretary of banned outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) Karachi chapter, Engineer Ilyas Zubair, was shot dead and provincial information secretary, Qari Shafiqur Rehman Alvi, wounded on Friday night at Teen Hatti in the remit of Jamshed Quarters police station.

The two men were arriving at a mosque near Teen Hatti shrine, when unidentified men on a motorcycle sprayed them with bullets. Both the deceased and injured were taken to the JPMC. Tension prevailed in the city following the incident. Zubair was the father of five children and resided near Nagan Chowrangi. staff report
