Zardari discusses regional security with Miliband

KABUL: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday held a meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband and discussed the regional security situation.

Zardari and Miliband met on the sidelines of Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s inauguration ceremony. The president expressed his resolve to continue fighting terrorism. Miliband appreciated Pakistan’s contribution in ensuring regional peace. He said the UK would continue supporting Pakistan in overcoming its challenges. Zardari also met Iranian Vice President Muhammad Reza Rahimi and discussed matters of mutual interest, especially regional security. app
