Shop, house burgled in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Two burglaries and theft of five vehicles were reported in the city on Thursday.
Police said unidentified burglars looted Rs 2.4 million from Kamalur Raheem’s Gunjmandi shop and Rs 0.6 million, $3,000 and gold jewellery from Asim Hameed’s Westridge house when they were away.
Police also said Tariq Mehmood was injured by unidentified armed robbers on Kahuta Road when he offered them resistance. The robbers escaped.
Meanwhile, Arshad Mehmood’s van was stolen from Sadiqabad, Rafaqat Hussain’s van from Waris Khan, Shaukat Ali’s car from New Town, Ashraf Miraj’s car from Westridge and Abdul Naveed’s motorcycle from New Town.
Seperate cases have been registered with respective police stations and police have started investigations to arrest the culprits.
