CIA police bust gang of robbers

ISLAMABAD: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the capital police have busted an alleged inter-provincial gang of robbers and recovered looted items, illegal weapons and a truck from their possession.
A police team comprising assistant sub inspectors (ASIs) Tariq Rauf, Zafar Iqbal and others busted the gang. The arrested Pir Muhammad son of Dost Muhammad, resident of Mardan, Afzal Khan son of Khaista Gul resident of Dir, Ziarat Gul son of Feroze Khan, resident of Mardan, Anwar Shah son of Kaki Jan resident of Swat, Israr Ali son of Sher Ali, resident of Mardan, Naseeb Khan son of Raj Khan, resident of Mardan and Umerzada son of Momin Khan resident of Dir.
The people allegedly snatched valuables from Javed Iqbal, resident of Tarlai, Pervez Akhtar Khan, resident of Golra Sharif, Raja Imran, resident of Pindora Rawalpindi, Muhammad Ramazan resident of Islamabad and FIRs had been registered against them with the respective police stations.
During the identification parade, the complainants identified these accused. The looted items, illegal weapons and a truck were also recovered from their possession. During the preliminary investigation, they confessed 15 robberies in Hafizabad, Gujrat, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Taxila and Rawalpindi.
They also admitted to murder of two persons during the robberies in Sargodha and Hafizabad. They were used to tie the target with ropes and then loot them. Further investigation is underway.
