DCO orders tight security of railway station

Staff Report

RAWALPINDI: District Coordination Officer (DCO) of Rawalpindi Imdadullah Bosal on Thursday directed police and Pakistan Railways to ensure foolproof security of Rawalpindi railway station.

He also issued directions for early removal of encroachments and solid waste from alongside railway tracks in the city.

The DCO formed a committee headed by the executive district officer (EDO) of Revenue to ensure compliance of his directions in this respect.

During a meeting, Bosal said the dumping of solid waste near railway station and alongside railways tracks would be banned and the violators of the ban would be dealt with strictly.

He said the Sanitation Department should ensure that no one dumped waste in the open.

The DCO also asked the Rawal Town’s tehsil municipal officer to act against the owners of illegal vehicle workshops and bus stands alongside railway tracks in Gwalmandi.

He directed the city traffic officer to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city, especially around cattle markets set up for Eidul Fitr.
