UN commission confirms meeting Gen (r) Musharraf
UNITED NATIONS: The UN inquiry commission probing the assassination of Benazir Bhutto has confirmed having a meeting and a ‘frank’ conversation with former president Pervez Musharraf. A statement issued by the commission on Tuesday said, “the commission had a frank, open and cordial conversation with Musharraf, having been able to pose to him many queries on issues central to its mandate.” As part of its mandate to ascertain the facts behind the tragic killing of Benazir Bhutto in December 2007, the commission met with dozens of individuals. “The commission does not reveal who it has met or the content of those meetings. However, as agreed with Musharraf, the commission confirms having met him,” the statement added. staff report
