MQM to work with pro-democracy parties: Altaf
KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will continue working with pro-democracy entities to strengthen the country and steer it away from crises, MQM chief Altaf Hussain said on Tuesday. Altaf was talking to leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) (likeminded group) including Saleem Saifullah, Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri and Humayun Akhtar. The PML-Q leaders visited the party’s headquarter at Azizabad on Tuesday, said a statement issued by the MQM. The MQM chief said his party would be the biggest party in Punjab in the future, adding that the party was the first one to raise a voice against extremism. He said his party would continue to jointly work with other parties to strengthen Pakistan and promote democracy. The PML-Q leaders congratulated the MQM chief on his party’s victory in the Gilgit-Baltistan election. Altaf and the PML-Q leaders discussed the overall political and security situation in the country and other issues of bilateral interests. app
