‘Govt hospitals misusing funds’

KARACHI: Sindh Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which met here on Tuesday with its Chairman Jam Tamachi Unar in the chair, discussed audit reports of government hospitals and settled various cases of their accounts besides seeking more details about the recovery and expenditures. It also referred some cases to the Sindh chief minister for further deliberations.

The meeting was attended by the officials of Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, Peoples Medical College Hospital, Nawabshah, Civil Hospital Karachi, Paramedical Institute, Sukkur and various other organisations.

Addressing the meeting, Unar expressed serious concern over the misuse of funds by the government hospitals. He said that medical funds in government hospitals are being misused, seriously affecting poor patients, specially those of interior Sindh.

He said that doctors in the hospitals of Sindh are not performing their duties properly and usually remain absent from office. ppi
