‘Sindh government should withdraw lease powers from CDGK’
KARACHI: During a press conference after the City Council session on Monday was adjourned, Jamaat-e Islami’s Al-Khidmat Group member Saifuddin criticised the Sindh government for lifting the ban that restrained the CDGK from leasing or auctioning land, saying this could result in the lease out of residential plots in Gutter Baghicha. Addressing the press conference, Awami National Party’s Khidmatgar Group Nasim Khan demanded that the Sindh government should withdraw leasing powers from CDGK or else it would result in lease being awarded on illegal plots. Khan added that no government could change the status of amenity plots but the land mafia was doing so to please selective people. Awami National Party’s Khidmatgar Group leader Dr Ziauddin Ahmed demanded that the Sindh government should withdraw leasing powers from the CDGK. Ahmed alleged that the Site Town’s maintenance and repair officer has been demarcating plots on amenity plots in Site town. This was illegal and the Sindh government should take notice of it, he said. staff report
