Anti-polio drive in Rawalpindi starts today

RAWALPINDI: A three-day polio eradication campaign will begin in Rawalpindi district from Monday (Today).

A Polio Control Room has been set up at EDO Health office and people can contact it through a toll free telephone number 0800-12012 to get any information or register complaints.

District Coordination Officer Imdadullah Bosal has appealed to parents to bring their children to the designated points for administering them polio drops.

He said children aging six months to five year would be administered polio drops and Vitamin A capsules that were beneficial for their vision and immune system.

As many as 655,874 children under five years of age will be administered polio drops during the campaign.

The local administration has established 253 fixed centres, besides 1316 mobile centres to make the campaign successful. The DCO said arrangements had been made to facilitate parents at 85 main public places in the city. app
