Security fears prompt closure of Ayub Park Road

RAWALPINDI: The Ayub National Park Road has been closed for traffic due to security concerns creating problems for the residents of Gulistan Colony. Residents have been left with no option but to use the Grand Trunk (GT) Road, hence covering more distance than they normally cover. “The road close to the Ayub Park is easily accessible to motorists but the administration is charging Rs 10 as entry fee, which is not affordable to them,” people complained to Online. Locals demanded the administration to either open the road or allow entry of vehicles without charges, as they use the route for commuting not parking their vehicles there. Meanwhile, the Airport Security Force (ASF) arrested a Birmingham-bound passenger at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Sunday and recovered a weapon from his possession, ASF official said. “The arrested man is being grilled by the authorities,” the official added. online
