Salmaan Taseer condemns Peshawar, Bannu blasts

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer on Friday condemned the terrorist attacks in Peshawar and Bannu in which many innocents were killed. Terming the blasts ‘dastardly acts’, Taseer said the government was committed to eliminating terrorism from the country. “Terrorist attacks are designed to demoralise the people and to disrupt the process of development,” he said, adding that terrorists were carrying out attacks in desperation due to the success of the military operations in Swat and other areas. staff report
