CJP asks PHC to dispose of plea against transfer of cases
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Tuesday ordered the Peshawar High Court (PHC) registrar to dispose of an application against the transfer of banking cases from Bannu to Peshawar over law and order concerns. Taking a suo motu notice on the application of the Bannu Bar Association’s secretary, the CJP also ordered his office to forward the application to the PHC for quick disposal. The application said the law and order situation in Bannu was better than other districts of the province, including Peshawar. The applicant said the people of Bannu were poor and could not travel to Peshawar. staff report
