Altaf threatens to launch protest drive against Punjab govt
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain on Monday threatened to launch a countrywide protest campaign against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz led Punjab government, for its provocative actions towards MQM office-bearers and journalists.
In a statement issued from London, he demanded the Punjab government to stop such activities. “The MQM reserves the rights to launch a countrywide protest demonstration against the Punjab government that will have a far-reaching impact,” he stated. Hussain said an investigating team of the MQM has already left for Punjab to collect facts and figures of excesses against the party’s workers and journalists. staff report
