‘Q’ will table resolution against KLL: Azeem
LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) will table a resolution in parliament against the Kerry-Lugar law irrespective of its failure or success, PML-Q Senator Tariq Azeem said on Friday. In an interview with Business Plus host Shahzaib Khanzada on his programme ‘Newsline’, the PML-Q senator said controversial points in the Kerry-Lugar law were included due to Indian pressure. Senator Azeem said Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, leader of the banned Jamatud Dawa, was never branded as a member of Al Qaeda. Calling the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) a “black law”, the PML-Q senator said it was biased. He said there was an understanding that either politicians should be given amnesty or there should be a complete ban on anyone becoming prime minister for a third term. Azeem said President Asif Ali Zardari did not have vision comparable to Benazir Bhutto’s. daily times monitor
