Zardari has not kept promises, says Nawaz

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif has urged the government to implement the Charter of Democracy and accused President Asif Ali Zardari of not fulfilling his promises, a private TV channel reported on Friday. Addressing reporters in Gilgit, he said the National Reconciliation Ordinance was not in the nation’s interest, adding appropriate measures would be taken to promote tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan. Nawaz demanded the government end poverty and unemployment in the country. He maintained that his party would never support elements trying to create political instability, adding the PML-N would continue its struggle for the rule of law. He said his party would also oppose any restrictions on the media. daily times monitor
