Quetta doctors end strike
By Malik Siraj Akbar
QUETTA: Doctors in Quetta agreed to resume their duties on Wednesday following a six-day strike, after senior government officials agreed to meet all their demands, including the withdrawal of a criminal case against Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Arif Iqbal Khosa.
Doctors in all major hospitals of Quetta had gone on an indefinite strike on a call given by the All Pakistan Paramedical Association (APPA) to protest against the registration of a case against Dr Arif Khosa.
They had stopped treating patients at the Civil Hospital, Bolan Medical Complex, Helpers’ Eye Hospital, Fatima Jinnah Chest Hospital and all other government-run health centres six days ago.
