127 illegal immigrants held

KARACHI: Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) officials have apprehended 127 illegal immigrants from Coastal Highway Shahjahan Check Post, Gwadar, said an official statement issued on Wednesday. The statement also said that 83 of these illegal immigrants were Afghans.

PCG officials said that the arrested people belonged to different parts of the country, including Mianwali, South Waziristan and Bahawalnagar, adding that the vehicles, in which the detained people were travelling, were crossing the Pakistani border to enter in Iran.

The officials also said that further investigation was underway by the PCG’s ‘Special Investigation Team’, which would also ascertain if the held people were on their way to Iran or some other country. staff report
