US embassy official meets IG

LAHORE: Ms Carol M Sniegowski, US Assistant Legal Attache, called on Inspector General of Police (IG) Tariq Saleem Dogar on Tuesday.

Prospects of mutual cooperation in police training and investigation were discussed and reviewed in the meeting. The attaché appreciated the measures taken to combat terrorism and assured that the US would provide technical assistance to train Punjab Police personnel. She said in order to modernise the investigation wing, vehicles equipped with the latest crime fighting tools would be provided.

Speaking on the occasion, the IG said US cooperation in the field of training would enhance the professional skill of the police officials. He said the availability of vehicles equipped with latest investigative instruments would help in investigating crimes scientifically. This would help the personnel effectively preserve evidence from the crime scenes, he added. staff report
