Political leaders come into action

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party Karachi chapter leader Najmi Alam and Sindh chief minister’s advisers Rashid Rabbani and Waqar Mahdi visited the injured passengers at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Sindh Minister for Health Dr Sagheer Ahmed also visited the JPMC and supervised the treatment of the injured. He said immediate attention and care has been provided to the injured victims. Different provincial ministers and political leaders have expressed their grief over the incident. In their separate press releases, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, MQM chief Altaf Hussain, Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri, ANP MPA Amanullah Mehsud, Karachi Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chapter’s Amir Muhammad Hussain Mahenti and others have expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. The JI leader blamed the government’s ‘inefficiency’ for the tragedy and demanded Federal Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour’s resignation. staff report
