BISE secretary injured in Quetta firing
QUETTA: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Secretary Hamid Mehmood was seriously injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Quetta on Saturday. Quetta police said Mehmood was on his way to work with his driver around 10am when gunmen, riding two motorbikes, fired at his car. The secretary was shot in the head, however, his driver escaped injuries. Mehmood was taken to BMC hospital, but moved to the federal capital in a chartered plane when his condition worsened. Doctors say his condition is still critical. Meanwhile, a man, claiming to be a representative of the Baloch Liberation United Front (BLUF), telephoned a local TV channel office and claimed responsibility for the attack. app
