Qureshi to attend D-8 ministerial moot in Malaysia

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will represent Pakistan at the 12th session of D-8 Council of Ministers – scheduled for October 30 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The council would adopt the reports of the 26th and 27th sessions of the D-8 Commission and the D-8 budget for the year 2010. The meeting will be preceded by the 27th session of the commission from D-8 countries. A draft communiqué on the D-8 response to current challenges to the global economy will also be issued reflecting the progress made on the “Kuala Lumpur Initiative to Address Food Security in the D-8 Countries”. On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Qureshi was expected to hold meetings with his counterparts from D-8 countries and Malaysian investors. The foreign minister would also present a model of historic Badshahi Masjid to the Museum of the Islamic Art Malaysia. staff report
