LAHORE: Vowing that Turkey will fully cooperate with Pakistan, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan hoped the country would be able to overcome its problems soon, a private TV channel reported.
The Turkish prime minister was talking to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Sunday. Erdogan had invited Nawaz for a meeting during his three-day visit to Pakistan. During the meeting, both leaders discussed the regional situation and the challenges faced by Pakistan. Nawaz said Pakistan highly valued its brotherly relations with Turkey, which were rooted in shared interests, common concerns and perceptions on regional and global issues. The Turkish prime minister is due to address a National Assembly joint session today (Monday). Islamabad police have made tight security arrangements for the security of Edrogan, including a ban on the general public’s entry into the city’s Red Zone for a day. Also, no heavy traffic would be allowed to enter the capital from Sunday night.
