Hearing of bail pleas in forex scandal today
ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench of the Supreme Court will today (Monday) hear the bail pleas of directors of a money exchange company detained on money-laundering charges. The bench will consist of Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday, Justice Nasirul Mulk and Justice Ch Ijaz Ahmed. The state has been made respondent in the bail pleas, filed by Muhammad Hanif S Kalia, Muhammad Javed Khanani and Abdul Munaf Kalia. The three men are facing charges of illegally transferring foreign exchange and evading import duties and taxes. The Sindh High Court had rejected their bail applications on July 6. Also, the Sindh prosecutor general, deputy attorney general and lawyers for the accused, Rasheed A Razvi and Munir A Malik, will be appearing today on court notices. masood rehman
