Ali Hai lifts Sindh Governor’s Cup golf title

KARACHI: Ace amateur player Ali Hai lived up to his reputation by winning the 3rd Sindh Governor’s Cup Golf Championship, carding an aggregate of 148, at the Karachi Golf Club here Sunday. Ali carded identical rounds of 74 on each day to lead the pack of golfers in the two-day competition. Ali, showing fine putting, made four birdies on the final day. Sajid Khan recorded the best round of the championship with 72 to finish as runner-up in the gross category with a total of 149. Wasim Rana secured 3rd spot after playing rounds of 76 and 75 to end with an aggregate of 151. Ali Rana was 4th with 153 (77-76), Aleem-ur-Rehman 5th with score of 155 (75-80), Umer Khan Bangash 6th with total of 167 (80-87) and Zahid Ebrahim 7th with score 159 (82-77). Umer Khan won the net category event with total of 144 (72-72) and Aamir Khan secured the runner-up spot.
