Sindh Governor’s Cup Golf

Staff Report

KARACHI: The 3rd Sindh Governor’s Cup Golf Championship will tee-off at the Karachi Golf Club here from Saturday (today) with 220 golfers taking part in the event. Title holder Zohaib Asif is not defending his amateur crown due to revised eligibility criteria promulgated by the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF). A spokesman for the Sindh Golf Association (SGA) told media here Friday that under the new PGF policy, the amateur facility to caddie boys had been withdrawn as they failed to improve their game and come up to the expectations. Top amateur contenders are Muhammad Ali Hai, Aly Rana, Waseem Rana, Umar Bangash, Rizwan Feroze and Jaudat Hashmi. Haroon Kahlon, Hameedullah Khan and Aslam R Khan are favourites in the senior category.
