Barclays launches business loans facility

KARACHI: Barclays Bank Pakistan launched the Business Installment Loans Facility in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad/Rawalpindi on Friday. This new initiative from Barclays targets the small and medium enterprises sector and is one of the largest unsecured finance plans in the country. SMEs can get up to Rs 2 million financing without the requirement of any collateral and can be paid back in equal monthly installments over a period of five years. Barclays has a network of 14 branches and 32 ATMs in four urban and two rural centers. staff report

MoC to select trade officers for missions abroad

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Commerce has initiated the process of selecting trade officers in BS-18 and 19 for posting in Pakistani missions abroad. The officers of the occupational groups- district management group, customs and excise, income tax, commerce and trade, accounts, secretariat, office management and economist group- having 3 years recent experience of serving on relevant posts in the economic ministries/divisions and provincial departments like planning and development, finance, industries and agriculture may apply through their administrative departments. staff report

HDP to create awareness on Halal market

KARACHI: Halal Development Project, Pakistan, has arranged a series of presentations on Halal Market to create awareness among the business community, especially the export-oriented industry, a spokesman said in a statement issued here on Friday. The HDP has scheduled various presentations with the collaboration of all the top chambers of commerce & industry of the country and the relevant industrial and trade associations. The first presentation will be given by HDP’s CEO Asad Sajjad at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on 27th October 2009. staff report

Rs 3 billion loans for Rabi crop

LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank Limited will provide Rs 3 billion loans to small farmers for the Rabi crop. According to a bank spokesman on Friday, Rs 596.48 million will be disbursed in Lahore zone, Rs 349.40 million in Gujranwala, Rs 91.25 million in Rawalpindi, Rs 192.38 million in Sargodha, Rs 467.92 million in Faisalabad, Rs 462.40 million in Bahawalpur, Rs 633.71 million in Multan and Rs 206.46 million in Dera Ghazi Khan. app
