Balochistan package soon, says Zardari

ISLAMABAD: A comprehensive package for the socio-economic development of Balochistan would be announced soon, President Asif Zardari said on Thursday. Talking to a delegation of tribal elders from Balochistan, he said, “The government is focusing on the development of Balochistan and the socio-economic uplift of its people,” according to a statement by the presidency. He said the prime minister would announce the package after consultations with political leaders and stakeholders. The province’s law and order situation also came under discussion. Zardari said, “I have already urged parliament to consider giving amnesty to the political exiles of the province to promote political harmony.” staff report
