Wasim Akram’s wife still in critical condition

LAHORE: Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram has urged his fans to pray for quick recovery of his wife. Huma Wasim (42) was admitted to Indian city Chennai’s Apollo Hospital on Tuesday after her condition worsened while an air ambulance carrying her to Singapore from Lahore made a scheduled refuelling halt at the airport. “Huma’s condition remains critical,” hospital sources were quoted as saying Thursday. Sources said that Huma had suffered a multiple organ failure and she was put on ventilator support. She was originally scheduled to receive treatment in Singapore. Wasim is overwhelmed by the outpouring of concern and support from friends and fans for the quick recovery of his wife Huma, battling for life after being hospitalised. “I have been overwhelmed by the tremendous concern from almost the entire world and India in particular,” the former fast bowler said. Meanwhile, the Indian cricketers Kapil Dev and Ravi Shastri met Wasim and enquired about his wife’s health condition. agencies
