No entry of vehicles into Pak Secretariat without stickers
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has issued new instructions to government departments for the security of their offices including those housed in Pak Secretariat. The departments have also been told to act upon the instructions forthwith. An official of the Interior Ministry told Daily Times on Thursday that the instructions had been issued in view of recent terrorist attacks in the capital and adjoining garrison city, and would ensure protection of the government offices and their staff and visitors. He said all official and private vehicles used by government officials wouldn’t be allowed entry to the newly-fenced Pak Secretariat’s building until they had special security stickers displayed on windscreen. The official said visitors wouldn’t be allowed to meet employees of grade 16 and below in their offices. He, however, said such meetings could take place at the reception desks only. He said the visitors of grade 17 and above would be allowed to meet the officers concerned only after they obtained permission from the reception desk with the consent of the officers in question. He said the visitors would not visit the rooms except for those of the officers concerned. The official said after office hours, the staff of the government departments would not be allowed to sit late in office without prior approval of the relevant officers. He further said all officials had also been requested to display their security passes in visible position for proper identification.
