Kaira rules out change in military high command

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Wednesday brushed aside speculation regarding a change in the country’s military high command.

“There is no plan to change the chief of army staff,” he said while talking to the media after seeing off Prince Karim Aga Khan at the Chaklala Airbase.

The prince was visiting the country to review development projects being undertaken by the Aga Khan Development Foundation.

To a question on Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s visit to the US, Kaira said all political parties had given their views on the Kerry-Lugar bill, adding the foreign minister had gone to convey the views to the US administration. app
