Man kills wife for ‘honour’
KARACHI: A mother of two was strangled to death by her husband over karo-kari at Noorani Basti near Chakra Goth in the limits of Zaman Town police station.
Police officials said that a 25-year-old Kubra Bibi, a resident of House No 852, Sector 40, Noorani Basti, was killed by her husband named Ghulam Sheikh. Residents of the area informed the police that her husband Sheikh strangulated her over some illicit relations and managed to flee along with the children. The body was shifted to Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth after autopsy at JPMC while a case of murder was registered against the victim’s husband.
Passerby crushed to death: A passerby was crushed to death by a train near Malir Halt railway station here on Saturday. The victim, Niaz, 32, son of Ramzan, was crossing the railway track where he came under the wheels of a passing train. He died on the spot while his body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy and later handed over to the family. staff report
