12 Taliban surrender in Swat, 6 soldiers injured in Waziristan
ISLAMABAD: Twelve Taliban surrendered to security forces in various areas of Swat on Saturday, while six soldiers were injured in clashes with the Taliban in the Razmak and Saidullah areas of North Waziristan Agency. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said five terrorists surrendered to security forces at Barshaur and Kuz Bamakhela near Matta tehsil in Swat. “Five terrorists voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Matta and Sambat and two at Alamganj,” it said. Meanwhile in North Waziristan, the ISPR said Taliban attacked security forces checkposts in Razmak and Saidullah with rockets and small arms, injuring six troopers. “The terrorists also fired rockets at a security force checkpost in Ghariom near Mir Ali,” it said. The ISPR also reported that a delegation of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), headed by Etiennc Kuster, visited Maidan area of Dir and distributed 50 kilogrammes of fertiliser and two kgs of winter crop seeds each among 27,000 families. staff report
