Syrian envoy calls on Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: Syrian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Muhammad Riad Hussain Ismat called on Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday. The FM said Pakistan and Syria enjoyed close ties and there was a great potential for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields. He assured the Syrian envoy of assistance in this regard. The ambassador said his country attached great importance to its relations with Pakistan, adding that he had been working to further strengthen bilateral ties. Both officials also agreed to convene the 6th session of the Pak-Syria Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad. staff report
