ISI DG attends dinner hosted by Indian high commissioner

ISLAMABAD: In a rare gesture of goodwill, ISI Director General Lt Gen Shuja Pasha attended an Iftar-dinner hosted by Indian High Commissioner Sharat Sabharwal on Thursday. Pasha – the highest-ranking Pakistani official in attendance at the dinner – is the first serving ISI chief to have attended such an event hosted by the Indian High Commission. The Indian high commissioner received Pasha on arrival, saying, “I am glad to see you here.” Responding to the high commissioner’s remarks, the ISI chief said, “I always accept invitations, and I like to have more interactions.” Diplomatic sources said the presence of the ISI DG at the dinner could lead to hope intelligence officials of the two countries might review “the policy of sworn hostility” towards each other. sajjad malik
