DCO reviews arrangements: Sasta Bazaars will be set up in Ramazan
RAWALPINDI: The government will establish Sasta Bazaars in Rawalpindi, Kalar Sayedan, Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kahuta and Murree to ensure availability of daily use commodities at low rates during the month of Ramazan, said Rawalpindi District Coordination Officer (DCO) Imdadullah Bosal on Tuesday.
He was presiding over a meeting of Price Control Committee at his office. Deputy district officers (DDOs) Revenue of all tehsils, Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) officers, representatives of traders, Utility Stores Corporation and others attended the meeting.
Bosal said availability of fresh fruits, vegetables and other food items would be ensured in these bazaars and monitoring teams would monitor the prices on day-to-day basis.
Arrangements: While reviewing arrangements for security and cleanliness at sasta bazaars, he said these bazaars should be established on spacious places in all tehsils of the district keeping in view the traffic and parking problems.
He said permits for fair price shops and stalls would be given to those who were regularly establishing stalls in Sasta bazaars all the year.
Bosal also constituted committees to monitor the sasta bazaars. Each committee comprised a member of union council, members from bazaar committees and TMA officials. He said price magistrates would also hold meetings to check and assess the performance of these bazaars on daily basis.
He said Iftaar points would also be established at these bazaars for Iftaari of people coming for shopping. staff report
